Consultation on Orchard Mead Academy DSP (Designated Specialist Provision) Orchard Mead Academy is proposing the establishment of a DSP on its site to cater for up to 12 students across Key Stages 3 and 4 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a unit funded by the Local Authority and admissions will be open to pupils from across Leicester. The consultation period runs from Friday 28 May to Friday 25 June 2021 and allows anyone with an interest (for example parents, other schools and the local community) to comment. *** Update 6th July 2020 *** Please note that we are will not be issuing loan devices out for the last week of term or over the summer holiday. Any applications received will be held for review if devices are still required in the autumn term. Thank you. We are pleased to advise that we now able to loan students a Chromebook in order to support with home learning whilst the school remains closed. As we have a limited number of devices available, priority will given to those students defined as vulnerable by the government’s current guidance and disadvantaged students in year 10. In line with government advice received on Wednesday 18th March, the school will be closed to students from Monday 23rd March until further notice. The TMET Statement regarding the school closure can be found here. From Monday 23rd March we will offer a provision to students of “critical workers” and vulnerable students only.
