Safeguarding students and their families in the event of school closure due to the Coronavirus

In the event of a school closure due to the Coronavirus outbreak we wish to assure our students and their families that students’ wellbeing will continue to be of upmost importance.

If you have a concern about a students’ safety or wellbeing during a school closure you should:

·         Telephone the academy on 0116 2413371 between 10.30am – 3pm.  Your call will be forwarded to one of our DSLs who will triage your call and take the most appropriate action

·         If you feel that a child is in immediate danger you should call 999

Our Designated Safeguarding Leads will take steps to continue to support our most vulnerable families.  This will include:

  • Making telephone contact twice a week with identified students
  • Maintaining contact with social services and other agencies to ensure information is shared and action taken
  • Supporting with the provision of free school meals to those most in need
