February is National Heart Month and, on Friday 13th , all schools in The Mead Educational Trust will be holding a non-uniform day to support Heart Link – a local charity that has helped to save the lives of children in our school communities.

Heart Link not only provides life-saving equipment, it also stands beside families of children with heart conditions during some of the most frightening moments of their lives. Last year, the charity supported the family of the Principal at Knighton Mead Academy when her niece needed open-heart surgery just days before her 3rd birthday.

To say thank you, Miss Smith is running 5k every day for 100 days to raise funds so that other families can continue to receive the same care and support. Friday 13th will be day 43 of the challenge.

Every pound raised will help to remind families who are facing heart surgery that they are not alone.

Thank you for your kindness and support.

We are asking for a voluntary donation of £1 for the non-uniform day.
You can donate directly via the fundraising page below.
