Kindness Week- Donation requests

Kindness Week 5th to 9th December   Next week is Kindness week at Orchard Mead Academy, and we will be donating food items for the local food bank, the Peace Centre. Students should bring in specific items for each day and hand them to their tutors in the morning and Kindness club will come and collect every morning.  

Orchard Mead Academy Admissions Policy Consultation

Background Orchard Mead Academy participates in full with the Local Authority’s Fair Access protocol in order that the most vulnerable children are offered a place at a suitable school as quickly as possible. In exceptional circumstances, this may include admitting children above the School’s published PAN. Orchard Mead Academy has a Designated Specialist Provision (DSP) unit which has 12 places to cater for pupils with an Education, Health and Care Plan detailing a primary need of Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Therefore, the School already has a number of pupils with significant SEMH. The School is proposing to limit the number of children in the main school with identified SEMH to ensure effective provision for children with SEMH needs across the school and DSP. Holiday Activities and Food Programme Winter 2022

All children eligible for Free School Meals can register for one of the activities listed below. Income support Income-based jobseeker’s allowance Income-related employment and support allowance Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 Child tax credit (provided you’re not also entitled to working tax credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190) The guarantee element of state pension credit Working tax credit run-on – paid for four weeks after you stop qualifying for working tax credit. 2021-2022 GCSE Certificate collection

2021-2022 Leavers Update Last years’ year 11 leavers will be able to collect their GCSE certificates on Thursday 1st December, 3.15 – 4pm. If you are not able to come into the school on this date, certificates can be collected from the main office, Monday – Thursday 9am – 3.30pm and on a Friday 9am – 3pm. Art Work  Art work will also be available to collect from the 1st December 2022, however, please be aware that if you want to collect any Art work you must do so by the 15th December 2022, material that is not collected will be disposed of in January 2023.
