We are excited to announce that, for the first time at Orchard Mead Academy, all Year 10 students (current Year 9) will take part in a one-week Work Experience placement next academic year.
This is a fantastic opportunity for students to experience the world of work, build confidence, develop key employability skills, and begin exploring future career pathways as part of their journey to becoming future ready.
To help support students and families with the process, we would like to invite parents/carers and students to our
Work Experience Launch Event on Thursday 11th June at Orchard Mead Academy.
Arrival is from 5:00pm, with the presentation taking place from 5:15pm–5:45pm.
During the event, we will share important information about:
- The full work experience process and timeline
- How students can organise self-placements
- Tips and guidance on where and how to find placements
- The support available for students who may struggle to secure a placement independently
- The safeguarding and health and safety procedures we will follow throughout the process
There will also be an opportunity to meet our Careers Leader and ask any questions about the programme.
We strongly encourage all families to attend to ensure students are fully prepared for this exciting opportunity.
To reserve your place, please book via the following link or QR code.
We look forward to welcoming you and launching this exciting new opportunity for our students.
