Normandy 2025

During the 2nd week of the Easter holidays a group of 38 Orchard Mead students accompanied by Mr Patel, Mr Palmer, Ms. Finnemore and Ms. Hurst along with former OMA student Amber travelled to Normandy, France.

The journey from Orchard Mead to Lisieux was long yet provided the opportunity to admire the spectacular Normandy bridge, a cable-stayed road bridge that spans the river Seine linking Le Havre to Honfleur.

On day 2, we visited our partner school Lechanteur in Caen as students experienced life at a French secondary school and had the opportunity to make new friends, before visiting the sumptuous Chateau de Canon and its beautiful gardens.

On day 3, we again spent time at our partner school, before travelling to Bayeux where we admired the Bayeux Tapestry and stunning architecture in Bayeux.

On day 4, we made our final trip to collège Lechanteur, where some very emotional goodbyes were said to newly made friends. We then travelled to Caen to admire the Chateau de Caen, before embarking on some shopping in central Caen, where many were delighted by the choice of cosmetics, while others eagerly snapped up souvenirs and gifts for loved ones.

On a busy final full day in France, we then ascended the Basilica to enjoy the breathtaking views of the city of Lisieux and the inside of the Basilica.

A great time was had by all.
