RE is delivered at Orchard Mead through Growth lessons. The intent is to produce an engaging and exciting curriculum that teaches students the values of the Orchard Oath covering thought provoking issues and providing opportunity for students to participate in moral and philosophical debates that will facilitate students to develop their own moral code. We intend for students to be tolerant and respectful of other cultures, religions and communities, become healthy, independent and responsible members of society who understand the wider world, their role within it and be empowered to make a positive difference within all levels of society. We aim for the curriculum to be responsive to events/ issues within the local community and to provide real life assessment opportunities.

RE is part of our Growth curriculum at KS3 and KS4, covering topics such as moral issues, medical decisions, Good and evil, conflict and prejudice and discrimination.

RE is a GCSE option subject, and if pupils choose to study GCSE RE, we study the following course: WJEC Eduqas GCSE in Religious Studies, where we focus on Islam and Christianity.
