Young Enterprise Students Win County Finals

Our  Year 10 enterprise group attended the County Finals in May 2019 against 5 other schools and colleges and won the right to represent Leicestershire at the Regional Finals of the Young Enterprise Company Programme. The students pitched and presented their idea to judges and others schools. They won three awards that night which were: Company of the year, Best Financial Management and Best Marketing after appearing on BBC East Midlands, Radio Leicester and in the Leicester Mercury. The group are gaining national recognition for their outstanding business sense and the innovative, creative product. There are high hopes that their product, The Easier Reader could go all the way and change the lives of many individuals who struggle with reading. TMET Free School Application Successful

We are pleased to announce that the Department for Education announced today that The Mead Educational Trust’s (TMET) application to open a free school in Leicester has been approved. The new secondary school is expected to open in 2018 or 2019 and will be based on the model of Rushey Mead Academy, the highly successful 11 to 16 Leicester academy, that is “rated outstanding by Ofsted and consistently one of the highest performing schools in Leicester“. Through TMET, the new school have access to a world-class education network and excellent school-to-school support. We will now work with the Department for Education to establish a location for the school and, once that is confirmed, will work closely with the local community and parents in this exciting new venture.
